The Torah celebrates the seven species (Wheat, Barley, Grapes, Olives, Figs, Pomegranates, Dates & Honey) and praises seven fruits in particular—grapes, figs, pomegranates, olives and dates. Also used to celebrate the festival are nuts with an inedible outer shell and an edible inner core like walnut, pecan, pinenut, brazil nut, pistachio, or almond.
